Band Booster Meeting Minutes for April 2017
The meeting was called to order by President, Tanya Jones.

Fair Shares Outstanding Balance: Approximately $2,000.00
Music Doctors Outstanding Balance: $300.00
Spring Trip 1 Payment Outstanding Balance: $190.00
Fundraiser had not been paid as of April 6, 2017. The money was also deposited into the uniform fund instead of the general fund or regular account. Approximately $1,106.40 is to be moved from the Uniform Fund to the General Fund.
New York Spring Trip
The trip had an overpayment of $2,172.50. Several parents are to be paid back $160.00 for overpayment due to payment paid at original price (later decreased).
There is one person who still owes a balance of $190.00. The individual paid $180.00 of $370.00 with a balance of $190.00.
Krispy Kreme Cards
There are 92 cards remaining. The Boosters decided to sell the cards before the and during the Spring Concert. Melody gave me the cards and then I passed the cards to Crissy Rimer on April 20, 2017.
Several alumni have submitted donations that are not included in the Treasury Report. Nikki Pierce has sent out letters to several alumni and also the Niswonger Foundation.
Student Fair Shares and Music Doctors Payments Outstanding
Mr. Woods and Mr. Gorbski are continuing to follow up with students and parents about outstanding payments. The Boosters is determine the total outstanding balances. Per Melody, outstanding Fair Shares are approximately $2,000 and Music Doctors is $300.

High School Banquet
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Venue: Union Temple FWB Church
Catered by: Firehouse BBQ
Firehouse Catering Agreement with number of people needs to be completed by April 21, 2107 (Mr. Woods is requesting an extension of April 28, 2017).
Firehouse Catering and North Greene Band to finalize number of people and details by May 1, 2017.
Firehouse Catering and Banquet Committee to conduct walkthrough of venue by May 5, 2017 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Tanya Jones to contact Ms. Hughes about walkthrough date and time and decorations.
Menu: Pulled pork, Chicken, baked beans, green beans, tea, and unsweet tea
Additional foods discussed: Cole Slaw, Macaroni and Cheese, and Desserts to be provided by Band Boosters. Tanya, Marcia Phillipe, and Cheri Cain to donate cupcakes.
Cost: $12.00 per person
Pre-sale tickets (High School Students Not Required to Pay for Dinner) the week of April 10, 2017. Mr. Woods to send out forms with students. Mr. Woods will also announce the banquet at the Spring Concert on April 27, 2017.
Decoration Committee to determine a date and time to decorate for the banquet at the April Band Booster Meeting.
Middle School Banquet
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Venue: Baileyton Methodist Church
Cost: $5.00 per family per student
Marcia Phillippe and Cherie Cain to order three sheet cakes (1 per school) from Food City or Sams.
Mr. Woods to check the concession stand for plates and flatware.
Mr. Woods to ask middle school parents to donate chips and drinks. He will be sending a letter to parents reminding them of the Middle School 10 for 10 Fundraiser dated March 21, 2017. In that letter, he will request donations for the middle school banquet chips and drinks.

Remind Me App
App was discussed in September. The app is tool that would be used as a communication source for band boosters. Mr. Woods was to follow up with Mr. Rosenbalm. No updates at April Band Booster Meeting.
Mr. Woods to start the process of ordering uniforms after the April 6, 2017 Band Booster Meetings.

Trailer & Instruments: Trailer and instruments pulled to Tusculum College by person to be determined.
Mr. Woods to contact Lowe’s to see about them donating the materials needed for the shelf. Previous band member parents offered to donate time to make more shelves (Wilbur and Angel). Mr. Woods may also ask about uniform donation during the call. Paint, wood, and mounting materials are needed. The Band Boosters will vote in March if there is a cost that needs to be paid by the boosters.
Concession Stand Sponsors

Concession Stand Lights Outside
Lights do no work. Mr. Woods to follow up with Mrs. Weems. No Action.
The Band Perry
Mr. Woods to contact Chuckey Doak High School (CDHS) Band director about a The Band Perry giving a donation for band uniforms. There is a contact at CDHS. No action.
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood
Nikki to contact a Baileyton resident who has connections to Garth and Trisha. No action.
The Middle School 10 for 10
The fundraiser will be conducted April 25, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pizza and drinks to be provided to the students.
The Ruritan dates have been received for Spring &Summer. The band boosters receive $150.00 each time they serve a meal during the Ruritan meeting. The Booster decided to have students, who have outstanding band balances, to help serve during the fundraiser.

Krispy Kreme –
Cards Remaining: 92 Krispy Kreme cards remaining to sell. Cards passed to Crissy Rimer on April 20, 2017. She is going to try and sell some prior to the Spring Concert and the Boosters will also sell during the Spring Concert.
Boosters paid $8.00 each for the cards and are trying to sell them for $15-16 each. There was conversation to sell at a lower cost. Any money obtained is all profit.
Parent Communication Letter
The letter was recommended to be sent out to parents by Mr. Woods. The following items would be included in the letter.
Outstanding Dues – Fair Shares, Music Doctors, Spring Trip, and so forth.

Mr. Woods indicated that the minimum order quantity is 48. The sell price would be $12.00 per tumbler. The vendor indicated 1 two week turnaround. The Boosters decided that we would need to pre-sale not pay the up-front cost of $576.00. The fundraiser was tables
Baileyton Road Block
The Baileyton Road Block is being reschedule by Tanya for April 29, 2017. People to work the road block have not been identified. The Boosters decided that all donations are to be placed in the Uniform Fund.
Chick Fil A Fundraiser
Chick Fil A fundraising will be held before or after the Spring Concert on April 27, 2017 and also through businesses. Angel Gass is fundraising at Parker Hannifin for April 27, 2017. The meal consists of a sandwich, regular chips, and water.
Band Boosters to donate chips and water
Minimum order quantity is 50
Meals are $5.00 each
Profit is to be placed into the Uniform Fund

North Greene Letters
The cost is $9.00 per letter of “NG” and the cost of the letter “NG with the new Husky Head with Band” underneath is $11.00. The letter will be used as a reward or trophy. The Band Boosters are discussing if all years will letter this year or just the seniors and/or juniors. Additionally, the group decided that moving forward all freshman will letter. All classed will receive a chevron after the freshman year.
Chick Fil A Before or After Spring Concert
The Band Boosters will be selling a meal at the concert. The meal will consist of a sandwich, regular chips, and a bottle of water. The Boosters will donate the water and chips.
Concession Stand – Fall
Nikki to head up the committee to obtain parent sign up for Fall Concession Stand.
Instrument Transportation – Fall
The band needs 6 to 7 parents to rotate pulling instruments to ball games, competitions, concerts, parades, and graduation.
Alumni Recognition – Fall
Incorporate North Greene High School Band Alumni into Homecoming in the 2017-2018 school year.
North Greene High School Band’s 10th Anniversary
The Band Boosters and Student Body Band need to brainstorm ideas on how to celebrate the Husky 10th Anniversary. Discussed purchasing and selling t-shirts which money raised would be awarded to a senior as a scholarship. A committee would be selected to oversee the selection process. The committee should be comprised of members not affiliated with the band program at North Greene.

Mr. Woods to send Nikki the middle school contact list.
Band Booster Officer Nominations
Tanya Jones nominated as President; Crissy Rimer nominated as Vice President; Angelique Gass nominated as Secretary; and Lisa Laughters nominated as Treasurer. Elections will be made at the May Band Booster Meeting.
Nikki Pierce nominated as Concession Liaison (includes parent volunteer schedule, menu, student cleanup after game schedule, and so forth), and Fundraiser Leader.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 pm.
Next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the North Greene High School Band Room. All band parents are encouraged to attend.
